Wisdomatic

Wisdomatic

The “Fountain of Wisdom” from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila seems like a good visual metaphor for wisdomatic. (Wikipedia photo/T0p 16)

I’m trying to create a new word in the hope that I can make it the Webster’s Word of the Year for 2012. That word is wisdomatic. I’m defining it to mean “the ability to dispense wisdom at a moment’s notice.” As a means of creating a working example of this word, I would point out the music work of Lazyboy and the song “Everybody’s Free (to Wear Sunscreen).” To advance the discussion further, I would love to give several points of wisdom.

1.) Knowledge is best applied with a sledgehammer.

2.) Intellect is measured by the amount of interactions with others, the quality of those interactions and how those interactions impact the audience.

3.) Asking for money to support your work is a by-product of the Web 2.0 economy and has been around for centuries.

4.) Individual transparency about yourself may not be a good thing.

5.) A backed USB drive may save you one of these days.

6.) Re-read the classic authors every so often.

That is all. Enjoy.
